EGYPT HEALTH MINISTER ANNOUNCED DEVELOPMENT OF NATIONWIDE HEALTH SYSTEM
Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar directed the intensification of follow-up and evaluation work for plans to develop the health system nationwide.
This came during the weekly meeting of the ministry’s leaders, heads of sectors and agencies, and with the participation of all the ministry’s undersecretaries in the governorates via videoconferencing, to follow up on the progress of work and to identify challenges and obstacles to overcome them, to ensure the continuation of providing the best medical services to patients.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the minister directed -during the meeting- to provide qualified and trained human cadres at the highest level to work in the relevant departments.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister followed up on the performance rates of monitoring health facilities in the governorates, through the specialized teams, pointing to the minister’s directive to intensify the work of the departments responsible for the quality and to follow up on the implementation of the observations of the control teams in the ministry and health directorates.
The minister also stressed the importance of providing training for workers in those departments, stressing the importance of unifying work mechanisms and policies and developing them by international foundations and standards, in a way that ensures maximizing the use of the control system and improving the quality of performance in health facilities.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the meeting dealt with presenting the plan and the work axes of the president’s initiatives to improve public health for the year 2023, as well as its results for the past year 2022.
